As a sound technician you like to work with professional gear. Groovin' High has its own compact PA system, suitable for most venues. For larger venues or open-air concerts a larger PA is hired.

Microphones are AKG, Sennheiser, Shure, Beyer. Top quality mikes are extremely important: what a mic doesn't pick up, you can't put back in! Professional grade cables and connectors prevent hum and crackle problems. We check them periodically and every suspect cable is immediately replaced or repaired. Thus we very seldom have technical problems during concerts. |

Mackie SRM450 tops and Mackie SWA1501 subs. powered tops and bass cabinets. The tops have active filtering and two separate power amps each. The bass cabinets have their own built-in power amps. The result is a very tight and clean sound that is much bigger than you would expect from the size! |

RCF ART310A active monitors 10 inch and 1 inch at 300W + 50W. They sound very clean and clear. We never have to use them at high sound levels, but you could even use them as PA tops generating 127dB max SPL! |

Behringer Composer Pro MDX2200 compressor. A very musically sounding compressor, easy to adjust due to Interactive Knee Compression. Makes the sound stronger and more compact, without adding much volume. There's also a limiter function: it has not been necessary so far! |

Behringer DSP 8024 Ultracurve, a 2x31-band graphic
EQ with a real-time analyzer and an Auto-Q function for automatic room
measurement and correction plus three bands of parametric equalization.
It also has an automatic feedback destroyer on board. We mainly use it
to measure the acoustics and to automatically straighten out any peaks
or dips in frequencies. Every setting can be stored in one of its 100
memories for later use. |
